What is a CRT?
A CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) is a type of display that was dominant prior to not just the invention of LCD displays but the feasability of them at a large scale. These displays used a vacuum tube made of lead glass and 1-3 electron-firing guns at the back of the tube, aligned the path of their beams via magnets, and drew a picture onto phosphor painting the back of the glass tube. Do this roughly 60 times per second (60hz) and you have an NTSC television.
These displays have always been a huge interest of mine, I grew up with them my entire life. I had one of them as our main family TV as a little kid, and then my parents bought our first flatscreen after my brother was born, and that TV became my room's. Since then I haven't lived anywhere without either bringing a CRT with me or finding a new one to fill the void the old left.
